Many in our community have been on this journey with us for years, building sophisticated integrations and forging new paths for NinjaTrader’s expansion into Desktop, Web, and Mobile trading.
As the Ecosystem has evolved, so have the needs of our vendors and developers. Whether creating sophisticated indicators, automated strategies, or robust third-party applications, developers play a crucial role in shaping the NinjaTrader experience. To better support this growing community and empower developers with the tools they need to build, test, and deploy seamlessly, we are excited to introduce a new resource designed specifically for you.
Introducing NinjaTrader Developer Community
As part of our commitment to modernization and developer support, we recently launched developer.ninjatrader.com. This new site features:
- Updated community & support forums
- A Discourse-based discussion forum
- Comprehensive and modernized documentation
- Enterprise-grade options for larger-scale integrations
Whether you are an established vendor or just getting started, our goal is to provide a streamlined development experience that makes the journey from concept to market both efficient and collaborative. NinjaTrader Developer Community is a significant milestone for us—a fresh foundation that enables faster, more flexible innovation for NinjaTrader’s growing developer community to support 1 million+ platform users.

Modern User Based Add-On Licensing
Ecosystem vendors that distribute and sell their Add-Ons will have the option to transition from NinjaTrader-provided machine ID–based vendor licensing to a more secure, user-based ‘invite-only’ licensing system including:
- Updated IP protection and authentication improvements to safeguard your innovations.
- New APIs for user onboarding to help developers deliver a seamless and modern experience.
This is an invite-only approach, and it is fully opt-in—you decide the best time to migrate or you can continue to use the existing system machine ID-based for the foreseeable future.
Next-Generation Ecosystem Website
We are currently redesigning our website to center around community engagement and dynamic content. This new experience will directly integrate with NinjaTrader trading platforms, allowing users to quickly discover and browse available Apps & Add-Ons with robust search and filtering capabilities. For developers, the new Ecosystem site experience will:
- Create a single, unified portal for authentication and distribution of Apps & Add-Ons.
- Strengthen discoverability so traders and developers can more easily share, find, and collaborate on new tools and ideas.
We are fully invested in expanding and improving NinjaTrader across all platforms—Desktop, Web, and Mobile. The vision for Ecosystem 2.0 reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting you, our developer community, as you build the next generation of trading solutions.
